NLL Changes, Saints
Remain A League Constant

By Jeffrey Cohen

The more things change in the National Lacrosse League, the more things stay the same for the New York Saints.

The league's front office has relocated from Buffalo, New York, to Lynchhurst, New Jersey. New franchises have been added. An old franchise has moved.

At the very top of the organization, Jim Jennings has been named Commissioner of the NLL. The announcement was made at a press conference at New York City's ESPNZONE restaurant. Jennings signed a three year agreement to serve as the second Commissioner in the leagueÕs history, replacing John Livsey, who stepped down to head the expansion Columbus Landsharks of the NLL.

Ottawa will debut its NLL franchise, the Ottawa Rebel, against their provincial rival and two-time defending champion Toronto Rock at the Air canada Centre on December 21. The Rebel will also open their Corel Centre gates on January 5 for their first home game against the Toronto Rock.

We are very excited about having the NLL in Ottawa," said Commissioner Jennings. "The Rebel will now allow players in Eastern Ontario to shoot for a new goal--to reach the highest level of professional lacrosse and play for their hometown team. I am certain that the Ontario lacrosse community will embrace the Rebel with open arms."
